Mitib A. Al-Harbi has been appointed as Vice President of Fuel Business Management, effective March, 1 2024. Entrusted with managing and overseeing the downstream joint ventures and affiliates across the globe.

Before this, Mitib A. Al-Harbi ran the operations as President of Aramco Asia, managing and overseeing Aramco’s business and interests in the Asia Pacific region from July 2023 – March 2024.

Al-Harbi served as Representative Director of Aramco Korea, a fully-owned subsidiary of Aramco Asia, from October 2020 to June 2023.

From June 2018, Al-Harbi served as the Head of Domestic Joint Ventures (JV) Management and Coordination, managing Aramco’s domestic JV portfolio in Saudi Arabia and representing Aramco as a shareholder in domestic JVs.

Before that, Al-Harbi spent four years serving as a manager and, from March 2014, held several other leading roles at Motiva Enterprises LLC, both at the Port Arthur Refinery and in Motiva’s U.S. headquarters in Houston, Texas. During his assignment at Motiva, he established the first Motiva Standalone Management System and played an important role in creating corporate standards and processes to help the company continue its independent success after the JV separation. He was honored with the “Motiva CEO Award for Superior Excellence” for his leadership role in the Accelerated Problem-Solving Organization.

In his early years at Aramco, Al-Harbi held multiple operational and engineering leadership positions in the Refinery Operations Department and the Refinery Engineering Department of the Ras Tanura Refinery in Saudi Arabia. He also took part in an 18-month internship program at UOP in the U.S. from September 2009 to April 2011 to strengthen his engineering expertise.

Al-Harbi completed the Saudi Aramco Management Development Seminar in 2023 and the Aramco Asia Business and Culture Program in 2019.

Al-Harbi joined Aramco in July 2000 as a process engineer in the Ras Tanura Refinery after graduating from Saudi Arabia’s King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals with a B.S. degree in chemical engineering.

Ammar Zaatari is Aramco Base Oils Alliance Manager, a position he has held since March 2020. In his role, Ammar is responsible of guiding the Aramco Base Oils Alliance strategy, working with Alliance members and partners to enhance value creation and capture through synergies in an optimized global base oils business while providing technologically differentiated products.

Ammar began his career with Saudi Aramco in 2001. Ammar would go on to acquire experience at Ras Tanura Refinery where he took on several leadership roles in engineering, operations, safety, and planning before joining Motiva’s Accelerated Problem-Solving Organization (APSO) in 2014. Starting 2016, Ammar occupied several posts in Downstream and Corporate Finance before joining Fuels, Administration under the downstream business line early 2019.

Ammar received his bachelor degree of Science in Chemical Engineering and Mathematics from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN, Class of 2001. Masters of Business Administration from Baker College, Flint, MI in 2008.

Mr Ahmed J. Al-Awadhi is Deputy Secretary-General at Gulf Downstream Association (GDA) and a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for GDA Leadership and People Development Technical Committee.

He holds a Master of Arts Degree in Human Resources Management from Abu Dhabi University, UAE and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from Ajman University of Science and Technology, UAE.

He is, also, a Certified Professional in Human Resources and Compensation (CPHRC) and a Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) qualified.

Mr Al Awadhi has a considerable experience and knowledge in various HR and Operational areas, including employee relations, recruitment, payroll, performance management, training and development, HRIS, internal governance, and legal compliance.

He was, previously, a Regional Manager at Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group, one of the largest, independent family-owned multinational businesses in the Middle East, where he was responsible for supporting and implementing the Group’s vision and transformation programme.

Director of Research & Analytical Services Department at Saudi Aramco, responsible for providing innovative solutions and advanced research services to enable corporate technology programs and support business operation.

Vast and comprehensive 32 years of experience in oil and gas industries pertaining to research, technology and process engineering in refining, gas operation, and oil processing. Work experience associated with Saudi Aramco, Saudi Aramco Technologies Company, Saudi Aramco Shell Refinery Company and Institute De France Petrol (IFP)/ France.

Twenty-two (22) years of effective leadership experience including director posts of Research and Development Center, Process & Control Systems Department, and Technology Strategy& Planning Department in Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco); in addition to Chief Executive Officer of a Saudi Aramco Technology Company, a wholly owned subsidiary company.

Responsibilities include technology development and licensing, selection and scouting, research services, engineering design packages review, process troubleshooting and efficiency improvement, research project development, asset integrity management in the areas of oil and gas separation, gas processing, pipelines, crude stabilization and refining.

Acquired divers and recognized skillsets including innovation fostering and knowledge sharing, strategic planning, organizational structure development and design, business acumen, systems thinking and root cause analysis, performance improvement and operational excellence, KPI’s setting and monitoring, and people development and capacity building.

Active engagement in professional societies and organization of scientific/engineering conferences.

A dedicated professional with about 25+ years’ experience in the Oil & Gas sector in multinational companies working in multicultural environment.

With strong focus on results, risk management and business planning the way of doing business is mainly oriented towards human resources, to their growth, by transmitting them the desire for curiosity and innovation.

Worked in very different environments and roles, both from a professional and relational point of view. Gained experience at both Head Quarters and in operational sites, mainly dealt with logistics and refining but also successfully carried out roles in the commercial area.
